Christmas Conversation #9: How much is too much when it comes to giving your kids gifts for Christmas?

Since we were just talking about guarding our kids from focusing solely on the gifts they will be getting, another related question came to mind.  It’s the question of excess.  How much is too much?

How does your family handle the temptation toward excess in this season?  What boundaries have you set?  Do those boundaries change as they grow?  Do they change with the changing economics?  What are some guiding principles you find helpful as you navigate this with your family?

Or, if you are honest, maybe you haven’t really thought that intentionally about this before and have just kind of gone with flow year to year?

No matter where you are on the spectrum, we’d love to hear from you.  You never know how your honesty and your ideas may encourage someone else!
